Today is International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, a day to pay tribute to all those women who not only have fought for their rights and against the social crimes committed by society towards a female (like every woman has to at some point in her life), but also fought against Breast Cancer, a disease to which one can succumb to at any moment.
Okay, you probably will have a basic idea of what an artificial intelligence (ai) is, by now. You might even have used one in the form of Siri, Google Now or Cortana. AI in fact is growing so powerful, it can replace humans in all kinds of jobs in the not so far future. It means giving a computer the ability to automate, think and take decisions.
Hey guys! Amritaya here! I know it is a little late for introductions but I am gonna give mine any way. I am SUPER excited about this blog. I can't wait to share my views and opinions about everything around me, with you guys. But first I am going to tell you a few crazy things about myself (I will try to make it sound as sane as possible). So, I am a person addicted to food and books. If I were to choose between a palatial bungalow as my permanent residence and a library with a full stocked pantry, I would definitely choose the latter. Apart from books and food my life revolves around my sweet, lovable, and extremely insane, geeky and crazy friends, my dear, small family, music and MARS. I owe my success, happiness and insanity to all these. However in times of darkness and failure, I don't let depression get the better of me, thanks to optimism and my berserk humour. All in all I lead a very normal life and would have loved it even better if our world was a 'Zero Gender Bias' zone. Because that is not the case I am determined to make it so. I am a hard core feminist and I am on my mission to scrape the roots of sexism from our society. My blogs are majorly going to deal with this issue but don't worry it is not going to be a history lesson. So wish me luck guys and keep reading on!
-Amritaya! So, my fellow “bloggers” have proved be lethargic good for nothings and it looks like typing their introductory blogs is too strenuous for their delicate fingers (no Naman not you) I’ve been waiting to put up this blog and I just realized Naman Kumar has already put up two so yeah, here it is- All of us, literally all of us, at some point or the other have felt like giving up on life..have felt that no matter how hard you try it’ll be no good, but life is the only game that can be altered by the player. Okay so guys one small question-“There are two wolves, one is darkness and despair, and one, one is light and hope, which one wins?” So obviously those of you guys who have seen Disney’s Tomorrowland are already familiar with the answer but for those of you who haven’t, here’s the answer- The one you feed. The movie was a sci-fi but none of that part got my attention, I spent the entire movie pondering over those 4 words which had a meaning so deep that Mariana Trench would be jealous. And one day, when one of my good friends was going through that phase when he about to give up all hope, that’s the question I asked him. When I told him the answer, he asked me “But, how do you feed the right wolf?” That got me thinking, how indeed do you feed the wolf? I had no answer at that point. But after brainstorming for hours it hit me, optimism! That’s it! All you need is a piece of meat called OPTIMISM! You just need to believe that it will win, that’s how you feed it. And as my train of thought went on, I thought, won’t the other wolf want to be fed, won’t it come in my way and try to grab the food. In that case I will have to fight darkness and despair to fend it off. So, in life light and hope never comes without a bit of darkness and despair, that’s the harsh reality we have to accept AND use to our advantage. And if in the process you get some bruises, cuts and scratches, just apply the bandages. Now what plays the role of bandages in our story? Actually, its a who, our very own well wishers, our friends and family. When you have the slab of optimism, your friends and family to heal your wounds and the courage to stand up to the wolf all you need to do is never give up, and before you know it light and hope is gonna become your new pet! It has rightly been said, life is indeed what you make of it.
-Tanvi Rakhi or Raksha Bandhan is a ancient Hindu festival, in which sisters tie ‘rakhis’ on their brother’s hand. In return, the brother promises to protect his sister.
History The history of Raksha Bandhan is quite deep-rooted and is connected to several mythological and historical stories. The most popular one is linked to the story of Rani Karnavati of Chittorgarh and Mughal King Humayun. Chittorgarh was once attacked by Bahadur Shah and it was not possible for widowed Rani Karnavati to save her empire from the mighty force of Bahadur Shah. She sent a rakhi to Humayun and pleaded to save her and the empire. Overcome by emotions, Humayun, along with his force, immediately rushed to Chittorgarh to protect the queen. Though he could not save Karnavati as she and all other womenfolk there had committed suicide before he could reach, Humayun fought against Bahadur Shah and saved Chittorgarh from his invasion. Later, he handed over the empire to Karnavati’s son Vikramjeet Singh. There are many mythological stories linked to Raksha Bandhan’s origin. One about Hindu mythological characters Krishna and Draupadi is very popular. According to the story, when Krishna cut his finger once, Draupadi covered the cut by tearing a piece of cloth from her saree. Krishna then promised to save her whenever she needs his help. He kept his vow in all circumstances. Another mythological story links the festival with demon king Bali and Goddess Laxmi. According to the story, Laxmi’s husband Vishnu was asked by Bali to live in his palace, which Laxmi did not want. She tied a thread on Bali’s wrist and thus made him her brother. When Bali asked her what she wants in return, the Goddess asked him to free Vishnu from the moral binding of staying in his palace, which Bali granted. So, this is a festival signifying love, goodness, and happiness. Okay then, festivities call me. Cheers! -Naman "Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born." Okay, so this is supposed to be a post directed at the members of the Perpetual Pentagon. Here goes. Taya, Tanvi, Likhari and Nanda, you all have been great friends. Always there, always suggesting, always helping. I guess its safe to say I have taken some of your craziness too. I am different. More optimistic. More… Happy. So, I dedicate this post to you all. Taya, first of all, Happy Birthday! The first thing I want you to know is, you are awesome. You know me enough to even detect my emotions from how I chat. That is something I believe only happens when someone is close, when you know someone to their deepest. So, thank you for all you have done for me. Tanvi. You are a very, very optimistic, crazy, fearless, confident, skillful and well lovable personality. You are undoubtedly one of the main reasons I am more optimistic than I was. Those life skills lectures were actually fun (better than our physics teacher’s!). Keep slaying. Keep being crazy. Don’t change. Happy Friendship Day and thank you! Likhari! You are awesome, ultra friendly and ultra fun to talk to. Building those birthday gifts were fun. You trying to catch me was fun! Basically everything was fun with you. Oh and P. S. ‘Tera muh gol nahi hai’. Thank you and Happy Friendship Day! Nanda, fellow geek! 3 years have passed since robotics started and its always good to work with you. You have been that always carefree guy that doesn’t care what the world thinks of him. Also, you are very hardworking. I have seen that when working with you on our numerous robots. So, thank you, Happy Friendship Day and never change. That’s kind of it, you guys. Love you all, and well I hope we stay like this. After all we are the Perpetual Pentagon. #MartianBratBimbo&2Geeks So here goes, as my friend has already told you we are just a bunch of teens with different lives, different likes and dislikes and different ambitions trying to figure out things, figure out high school, figure out people and figure out OURSELVES. This blogging stuff is gonna be a chance for people to know us and for us to know each other as well… hopefully. So, I’m a dreamer, a deep thinker and an optimist. I got my brain hard-wired like a philosopher you can say, a really weird philosopher actually. I love music and books and dance is something so close to my heart that words won’t suffice. I’m a work-out freak and a foodie so it’s kinda balanced. Most of my posts are gonna be either extremely deep “make you believe” stuff or completely random stuff, but, with an element of humor to spice up things. I hope this thing is a success.
Cheers to our first blogging experience!! Tanvi Okay, so this is the first post by me and I’m excited about this blogging stuff. First thing one should know about me is that I’m a big time tech enthusiast. So, most of the posts I will write would presumably be about tech. I love tinkering, diy, art, music, reading, robotics and coding to name a few. I am always enthusiastic about creating new things and innovating. Also, I am a procrastinator (which doesn’t help me much). My life currently consists of, well, screens and studies. That’s kind of it except high school, and some continuously occurring weird events that are beyond words. So, this blog is in my opinion a expression of myself and my interests, and of the other four bloggers. We are a bunch of mostly carefree, weird and crazy teenagers that just found out what high school is like. I will hopefully will be writing posts regularly, presenting my opinions on the happenings around me, my experiences, reads, creations and other stuff that I am to find out…
Cheers, Naman Kumar |
