Hey guys! I am back after a week of 24×7 fun, food and festivity of the 'Durga Puja'. 'Durga Puja' is the biggest and the most awaited festival of the Bengalis because it gives them an opportunity to indulge in food, clothes and get-togethers with friends and family, without any hindrance. During 'Durga Puja', the streets of Kolkata are lit up with string lights and littered with 'pandals' (temporary canopies) of all shapes, sizes and decors. People throng to different 'pandals' to see and enjoy the artistry. The decor of each 'pandal' is based on a particular theme which conveys a social message and is a visual feast to look at.
Today is International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, a day to pay tribute to all those women who not only have fought for their rights and against the social crimes committed by society towards a female (like every woman has to at some point in her life), but also fought against Breast Cancer, a disease to which one can succumb to at any moment.
Hey guys! Amritaya here! I know it is a little late for introductions but I am gonna give mine any way. I am SUPER excited about this blog. I can't wait to share my views and opinions about everything around me, with you guys. But first I am going to tell you a few crazy things about myself (I will try to make it sound as sane as possible). So, I am a person addicted to food and books. If I were to choose between a palatial bungalow as my permanent residence and a library with a full stocked pantry, I would definitely choose the latter. Apart from books and food my life revolves around my sweet, lovable, and extremely insane, geeky and crazy friends, my dear, small family, music and MARS. I owe my success, happiness and insanity to all these. However in times of darkness and failure, I don't let depression get the better of me, thanks to optimism and my berserk humour. All in all I lead a very normal life and would have loved it even better if our world was a 'Zero Gender Bias' zone. Because that is not the case I am determined to make it so. I am a hard core feminist and I am on my mission to scrape the roots of sexism from our society. My blogs are majorly going to deal with this issue but don't worry it is not going to be a history lesson. So wish me luck guys and keep reading on!
